A: The problem with buying a used window regulator is that it is most likely in the same shape as your broken one. Window regulators and door handles are the weakest part of the early Hyundais. Spend the money for a new one, especially if your paying the labor to have it replaced. Also the Hyundai list price on this regulator is $91.45.

A: yes a very good first car. being a Hyundai mechanic i have worked on these plenty of times. they are very reliable and economical. you get plenty of miles from one of these as long as you look after it.

A: I would definitely recommend you have them installed by a professional mechanic since it sounds like you don't know how to do it. You probably don't need to go to the dealer since most shops can do the work for you, I don't know if they'd be able to use generic parts or have to order from Hyundai though.

Should I go with Honda's reputation for reliability, given that I will drive out of the warranty in about 18 months or go with Hyundai's 10 year/100k warranty? I previously owned a Hyundai Accent (1995-2003) and had no major issues with it.
A: For a high mileage driver I'd be more inclined to buy a Hyundai. You have much less invested. I'd also purchase a "wrap" to cover what the 10/100 doesn't cover. The Hyundai's main warranty is 5/60 with 10/100 power train.

A: More then the car is worth, with a car that old it is a waste of time and money. Just sell the car, maybe you'll get $1000 for it and buy another. You can see if someone wants to sway you for an auto Accent, but spending money to convert is a total waste.

My grandma wants to get me a new car. I currently have a 1995 Plymouth Neon, which I hate. It runs great and everything has been fixed in it, and has low milage. But its time to get a new car. She said she found a 2002 Hyundai Accent. Its really cheap and has 118,00 miles on it. She bought a used Chevy Blazer from the same place with high milage and she loves it. It runs great. I wanted to see if it is worth me buying it with that high of milage. Alot of ppl that I talked to said they are great cars, but I want more opinions.
Also, its stick, is stick really hard to drive?

A: My husband has a 2003 Hyundai Accent and he loves it. We've had 1 minor problem with it since we bought it. It's also a "stick" and is excellent on gas. As for the mileage, I don't know... I'm always a little cautious about driving cars with high mileage but that doesn't mean that it's not reliable. Good luck!
