Q: How do you check the transmission fluid in a 1995 Hyundai Accent?
Do you check it with the car running or not running, and if running does it need to be in park or neutral?

A: Find the trasmission fluid dipstick, wipe the stick, re dip it, then check the level again. Notice the color of it too. If it doesnt have any red in it then its really old.

Q: 1995 Hyundai Accent : Manuel Window Regulator?
Can someone help me find a used window regulator for my 1995 Hyundai Accent: driver side, manule, 2 door. I am having a hard time finding one, unless I want to get a new one ($105.17) Please Help!

A: The problem with buying a used window regulator is that it is most likely in the same shape as your broken one. Window regulators and door handles are the weakest part of the early Hyundais. Spend the money for a new one, especially if your paying the labor to have it replaced. Also the Hyundai list price on this regulator is $91.45.

This just happened about a month ago.

A: It could be either that the shifter needs adjustment or repair or there is a internal problem in the transmission.A REPAIR GARAGE THAT YOU TRUST should be able to figure it out.You did not say if this is a new problem or one that has been happening for a while so I cannot offer any better insight.

Q: Hyundai accent first car?
My dad just bought me a 1995 Hyundai accent, I like small cars because they have no power, and are easy to handle. The hyundai seems like a decent car so far is it a good first car? Is this car known for any mechanical problems? I like the car because its easy on gas aswell, plus makes no noise, what about crash test rating?

A: yes a very good first car. being a Hyundai mechanic i have worked on these plenty of times. they are very reliable and economical. you get plenty of miles from one of these as long as you look after it.

Q: 95 Hyundai Accent : Rear Seat belts?
Where could I find rear seat belts for my 1995 Hyundai Accent? Are they hard to install myself, or is this something I would need to go to a dealer for (to buy and have installed)?

A: I would definitely recommend you have them installed by a professional mechanic since it sounds like you don't know how to do it. You probably don't need to go to the dealer since most shops can do the work for you, I don't know if they'd be able to use generic parts or have to order from Hyundai though.

Q: Does the warranty (10 yr/100k) on a Hyundai Elantra trump the Honda Civic's reputation for reliability?
I am debating between purchasing a 2007 Honda Civic or a 2007 Hyundai Elantra. I drive about 20k miles per year. Should I go with Honda's reputation for reliability, given that I will drive out of the warranty in about 18 months or go with Hyundai's 10 year/100k warranty? I previously owned a Hyundai Accent (1995-2003) and had no major issues with it.

A: For a high mileage driver I'd be more inclined to buy a Hyundai. You have much less invested. I'd also purchase a "wrap" to cover what the 10/100 doesn't cover. The Hyundai's main warranty is 5/60 with 10/100 power train.

Q: how much will it cost for a transmission swap?
what would be the cost to get a 5 speed 1995 hyundai accent changed to an automatic...........i hate stick shifts with a passion

A: More then the car is worth, with a car that old it is a waste of time and money. Just sell the car, maybe you'll get $1000 for it and buy another. You can see if someone wants to sway you for an auto Accent, but spending money to convert is a total waste.

Q: just changed my oxygen sensor still loss of power and car smokes, what am i missing?
1995 hyundai accent- 12 valve, new spark plugs and wires

A: map sensor!

Q: My grandma is looking to get me a Hyundai accent, is it a good car?
My grandma wants to get me a new car. I currently have a 1995 Plymouth Neon, which I hate. It runs great and everything has been fixed in it, and has low milage. But its time to get a new car. She said she found a 2002 Hyundai Accent. Its really cheap and has 118,00 miles on it. She bought a used Chevy Blazer from the same place with high milage and she loves it. It runs great. I wanted to see if it is worth me buying it with that high of milage. Alot of ppl that I talked to said they are great cars, but I want more opinions. Also, its stick, is stick really hard to drive? its a 2002, its not free, well it is, but I have to pay some of it back

A: My husband has a 2003 Hyundai Accent and he loves it. We've had 1 minor problem with it since we bought it. It's also a "stick" and is excellent on gas. As for the mileage, I don't know... I'm always a little cautious about driving cars with high mileage but that doesn't mean that it's not reliable. Good luck!

Q: What is a good website with reviews of used cars? Or reviews of when they were new?
I am looking for at website that describes typical problems with a certain year and make going back the last 25 years. So that I can look up the different cars that I am thinking about buying. For example what are the typical problems with a hyundai accent from 1995, og with a toyota carina 1987, that people are experiencing. Thanks

A: Edmunds.com. Their used car prices are more realistic than KBB as well so it's a good all around site.
