Q: Give me pros and cons of this car: 1997 Hyundai Accent 2 door?
My husband just bought a really nice 1997 Hyundai Accent perfect inside and out...142K miles for 1500 dollars. Did he do well? All parts work no work needed on the car.
A: Well, if it is working perfect and stays that way for a year then you got a 100% perfect deal and will be super happy. Any car for $1500 that runs without needing another $500+ per year in repairs is an awesome deal. To buy a new Accent you'd be paying $250 a month for 60 months probably...so even if it only lasted 15 months that would be $100 per month. When cars get to a certain age and mileage you can throw out the valuation books because the only thing that matters at that point is how well it runs, its condition and what repairs it needs. You got people out there paying $2500 for a Honda Accord with 210,000 miles on it just because its a Honda, then they wonder why they spend another $1000 every year just to keep it on the road.
Q: Where is the engine block coolant drain plug located on the engine block of a 1997 Hyundai Accent?
The Hyundai factory manual says there's one, but the mechanics at Hyundai said there isn't. Who knows?
A: The coolant is NOT drained from the engine block. It is drained from the bottom of the radiator (called Petcock).
Good Luck...
Q: Where is the ignition switch on a 1997 Hyundai Accent and how do I change it?
A: where you put the key in. but don't try to do it take it to someone because you need a special key tool to unlock it... and you could set your airbag off!!!!!!!!!!
Q: does the 1997 hyundai accent have a cable between the transmission and the shifter and is it adjustable?
A: Some are adjustable others you replace the cable if it is worn and loose!!
Q: Is it normal that i need to press my cars clutch to start it, i got a Hyundai Accent 1997?
is it a problem if you need to statrt your car by deprresing the clutch or it is a standard feature for Hyundai accent.
A: that option is standard with all cars, so you dont start it in gear. it is part of the nuetral safety system incorpororated in the clutch pedal on all cars.
Q: how can i tell if my transmission in my 1997 hyundai accent auto is bad?
A: The 1st post is just telling you how to check if you need to change the fluid I think.
The only person who can tell you if your transmission is going bad is a mechanic that works on transmissions. Take the car to a transmission shop for a diagnostic. One sign is there maybe metal shavings in the transmission fluid. Another sign is the car won't go into gear or is very slow to move when first accelerating. When driving and you take your foot off the gas, do you feel a slight kick or when putting your foot back on the gas pedal?
Q: I have a 1997 Hyundai Accent. I need to replace both master/slave cylinder. How much should US mechanic charge?

Q: 1997 hyundai accent?
My boyfriend is about to buy q 1997 Hyundai accent and I just want to know what kinds of things we should look for when looking at the car. Since I heard so many bad things about Hyundai. Also, I know your going to suggest to get a Honda or Toyota instead. But he only wants a Hyundai since he loves the Tiburon.
Thanks
btw the car is priced for 995
A: The only thing to look for is the maintenance log and a good mechanic to inspect the car for needed repairs. Other then that, if it runs then $1000 for a car that is drivable is usually a good deal. There's no reason to pay more for a Honda/Toyota with just as many miles.

Q: I need to know the color coding and wiring diagram for a car stereo on a 1997 hyundai accent.?
A: If you are changing the radio, they might make a conversion plug for your car. This way you won't need to know which wires are what, the plug conversion will do it for you. If you cut the plug off........good luck!!
Q: I cannot put my 1997 Hyundai accent GL into any gear. Whats wrong with it?
A: If it's a manual transmission is the clutch pedal spongy? Check the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder reservoir. If it's low you have a leak either at the slave cylinder or the clutch master cylinder and there is air in the system.

Q: 1997-1999 Hyundai Accent VS same yearish VW Polo/Golf VS same yearish Nissan Micra?
On tight budget in the UK, have £800-1000... Need something between a 1.2 and 1.5 for insurance reasons. Any other options are welcome, obviously needs to be low insurance group and be reliable :)
Just looking to get the best out of my money.
Thanks.
Yeah, ok... The Accent's are tin foil :)
But the reason I fancy one over the others is because it's that bit bigger! I'm a musician, so being able to fit in equipment is realllllly useful. It's just room'yer. heh
Any other good cars, cheap to insure, that are bigger than the polo's or micras?
A: i had a polo and it broke so much not a good car hated it. there known to have bad gearboxes too. micra is a very good car cheap to insure quite nippy. very reliable. rock solid car cant go wrong with it. hyundai are also very good you wont find much wrong with them same as the nissan. id buy the nissan you just cant go wrong with it
