A: not worth it..sell the car and buy what u want...It can be done but will cost 1000 to 2000 and be no end of trouble...
Q: What is the timing for 1999 Hyundai Accent? Is there a difference between the 1998 and 1999 Accent?
I am replacing the timing belt and I can't find a manual to set the timing, is it self setting or what do I need to do?
A: The ignition timing is controlled by the ecu and needs no adjustment.
Q: Does a 1999 hyundai accent have an inertia switch that shuts off the fuel flow
i have a 1999 accent and cant get it to run unless i direct connect the fuel pump so i think i need to reset the inertia switch so can you tell me where it is located if there is one
A: The Accent does not have an inertia switch. It sounds like a defective fuel pump control relay, located in the fuse box in the engine compartment. It will run you about $25.00. Could also be the fuel pump itself is defective.
There are some electrical tests that can be run if you know a qualified technician.
Q: 1999 Hyundai Accent Will not crank, but will start if i cross the starter. Whats Wrong?
It starts like cake when I cross it. I just put a new starter in it. New battery. Checked grounds, checked wires, checked everything I can think of. Please tell me what is wrong with me care!
A: The small wire going to the solenoid has no power when you turn the ignition key to the start position. You need to check for power going into the electrical switch which is on the end of the assembly you put the key in. You also need power out of the switch when you have the key turned to the start position. The power on the correct terminal will go out when you release the key. If that's ok check the wire from the ignition switch to the soleniod and fix the open circuit. It will be a broken or corroded connection.
Q: what is the location of the fuel pump in a 1999 Hyundai Accent?
And the best way to take out and replace.
A: Its in the fuel tank. drop the fuel tank out of the vehicle or remove the back seat cushion and see if theres an access panel sort of round cover with a couple of screws holding it to the floor pan. If there is you wont need to drop the tank to get to the pump.
Q: how do you get into the dashboard of a 1999 hyundai accent so i can change the dashboard bulb?
i have no repair manual so any help would be very useful
A: There are two screws behind the ashtray and two screws on the upper part of the dash,if you look up under the hood of the dash you will see them, remove all screws and GENTLY pry the dash cover off, just don't rip it off because there are switches with wires attached, disconnect them carefully, they break easily, then you can unscrew the instrument cluster to change the dash light bulbs.Make sure that the dash light dimmer is not turned off first before you take it apart.
Q: Does anyone know how to change a horn on a 1999 Hyundai Accent?
I bought a do it yourself horn kit thingy (as you can see I'm not very car savvy) and I can't find the d*mn thing
A: check under the front bumper or behind the grill
Q: how do i remove the rear speaker and speaker grill from a 1999 hyundai accent sedan step by step?
i dont know what screws remove what, so i can install the speakers. I tried looking around inside the car and there are no screws inside. Do i have to take the seats out as well?
A: Try going through your trunk. I had a hyundai elantra and it had the screws for the speakers. As for the grills some are screwed in also from the trunk and some are snap ins.
Q: 1999 Hyundai Accent GL , How many miles have you got on yours ?
Mine just turned 120,000 & still runs like a champ :D
A: Ok I have a 1998 accent that I got from my brother and it has 144,000 miles on it. But it does seem to be having some problems. The radiator is leaking a little, the radiator fan and air conditioning fan do not always want to work, the air conditioner does not work on #4 speed both window regulators are broke, all four struts are blown, and the check engine light keeps coming on and the code is a minor exhaust leak. But I still got to say that the little skittle still gets it. It just seems like everything all started breaking at once.
Q: how many labor hours to change all 4 struts on a 1999 hyundai accent ?
A: I dont feel like looking it up but probably 2.2 or so for the front and 2.8 for the rear. So 5 hrs labor times going rate 100/hr give or take 20 bucks depending where you live.
Q: 1999 Hyundai Accent Tire PSI, Help needed?
I have a 1999 Hyundai Accent and I cannot find the tire PSI location anywhere...my tires are at 20 psi currently, and Im thinking that they should be up around 30...however I'm not sure..perhaps somebody can help me?
A: Yes, anywhere between 30-35 PSI is good for your car and most cars, 20 is really low. Check your tires in a week to make sure there's no leak, then check it monthly as tires can naturally lose air over time with their heating cycles.

Q: 1999 Hyundai accent-1.5 L- I can drive for 5 kilometers, engine purrs, let off the throttle and it dies.?
I changed the coil, but it still does it. Could it be the fuel pump?
A: Check the easier things in the fuel system first like the fuel line filter under the hood and the possibility of guck in the carb.
Years ago I drove a Subaru and car developed backfiring problem rolling down steep hills. Ethanol blend reduced this a lot but problem was a crack in exhaust pipe at the catalytic converter. There is an Oxygen sensor in that component that adjusts your air/fuel ratio and an exhaust leak can throw that out of whack.
