I have a 2000 hyundai accent. it has power windows. the passenger side fell off of the track. does anyone know how to or know where the best place to find a manual so that I can fix it myself. I've alwaze been good with cars, but never encountered this problem. never had to deal with windows. hopefully someone has some good answers.

A: Use a long-handled flat-bladed screwdriver and pop the interior door panel off and take a look. Not to hard from there.

Q: p0422 catalys below threshold auto code. what and how much to fix in a 2000 hyundai accent?
does anyone know what the auto code p0422 catalyst below threshold (bank 1) means, what it takes to fix it and approx how much to expect for repair in a 2000 hyundai accent

A: Your best bet is take your vehicle to a competent mechanic that is able to read graphs from the vehicle's various sensors and then determine what is wrong with your vehicle. It might be multiple problems with this vehicle that your o2 sensors are reading, but not necessarily the cause of your problem. A code such as this is almost general, meaning that your vehicle is not really up to specs with the emission codes set for it. Good luck and try a dealer because we have have into this before.

Q: Where can i purchased 2000 hyundai accent cabin air filter?
I am looking for where to buy 2000 hyundai cabin air filters, all I can find is for 2001 and up. Looked on google, yahoo and ebay. Also looking for instructions in how to mount it. I am stuck at Puerto Rico, so I dont have the same comodities as other places. Currently no auto part store is carrying the part and the auto manual does not indicate how to change it. No hayes manual has been made for this car. Looking for information on an online store as the hyundai dealears in PR are quite low on parts and do not carry this filter.

A: PM me I can send you one, with instuctions.

Q: How do you take off a stock automatic shifter on a 2000 Hyundai Accent Gl?
Want to change my stock shift to a new carbon fiber one I purchase and so far I only got the overdrive button loose.

A: Get yourself a Haynes or Chilton manual; and it will explain it all in detail.

Q: My headlights keep going off when I turn on my bright lights- 2000 Hyundai Accent?
Every time I turn on my bright lights on my accent, my headlights go off. I have checked all the fuses that I can find and have checked the bulbs themselves. Is this a common problem with this type of car? Is it an easy fix or am I looking at a hefty repair bill? My low beams work fine. It is just when I toggle the high beam switch that I have a problem.

A: There are a couple of possible solutions. 1. The high-beam switch for the headlights has failed. This is usually located in the steering column and can be expensive to replace due to the airbag installation. 2. You have a short in the wire that feeds the high-beam side of the headlight capsule or the capsule plug end has corroded. This would probably affect one side only, though. I would check these first, then take it to the dealer for further troubleshooting. Since both headlights seem to be affected, I would look for a wiring or switch problem.

Q: where would a oil pressure sending unit go on a 2000 hyundai accent?
Bought an oil pressure gauge and not sure where to hook up the oil pressure sender unit? Any idea?

A: remove the stock oil pressure sending unit on the oil filter housing below the alternator

Q: Why doesn't the dealer listed rear tire stud for a 2000 Hyundai Accent wheel not fit the vehicle?
Took the car to the shop to replace a broken rear wheel tire stud and they told me that the stud they have listed for the vehicle doesn't fit. I picked one up from NAPA and brought it back and it's the same one they had. Called a dealership and they didn't have a good answer either. Anyone know what the problem is here?

A: Our computer system only lists one type of rear hub bolt for the Accent 2000-2005. Perhaps they looked up the wrong car, their computerized information was incorrect or the items were packaged wrong from the factory. It could also be inexperience or inability on the part of their parts dept. You probably paid less for the one from Napa anyway. New from Hyundai is msrp $3.01 each.

Q: Why is my 2000 Hyundai Accent (manual) stuck in reverse? And how do I fix it?
I drove the car home, reversed it and now it's stuck in reverse. I can move the shifter around but the car still just goes backwards. Any help?

A: Check your transmission fluid then call your local transmission shop so they can tow the car in for repair. If the transmission needs replacing/rebuilding you are looking at $1800-$2300.

Q: Is a 2000 Hyundai Accent Worth repairing? Or should I sell?
Is a 2000 Hyundai Accent Worth repairing? The body is more or less ok (it could use a new paint job) but the engine is shot. I was quoted 900 for a new to me engine plus labor. Worth it? Or sell it broken and get another used car?

A: Not a big fan of putting new engines or transmissions in older cars. If the rest of the car is in good shape I would say putting a warrantied used engine is the most cost effective choice. I've seen them as low as $250 at car-part.com. Worth a look. http://car-part.com/index.htm

Q: I crashed my 2000 hyundai accent. can i replace the steering wheel, as airbag deployed?
my airbag deployed in the crash. I am replacing the bumper which was damaged quite cheaply. however i am a first time driver and if it was possible was trying to obtain a new steering wheel via a scrapyard or autobreakers. regarding the airbag i'm not sure if it is feasable to do this. please help!

A: There are all kinds of legal things here... but basically, you will have to PAY to have a certified shop replace it... I think they are about $500

Q: 2000 HYUNDAI ACCENT - WHERE IS THE BLOODY ENGINE NUMBER?
I have looked and can't find it. Have emailed dealer and have had no response - hoping fellow Hyundai Accent owners or someone out there might be able to simply direct me to where I can find it.

A: The easiest place to find it is in your registration document, as it should be written in there. Alternative to that, check the BLOODY ENGINE. :)

Q: what are some bigger engines that will fit in a 2000 hyundai accent?
im looking for a bigger engine and i would like to be a littel more educated before i hit the scrap yard i also am thinking about a turbo "kit" to put on the new engine, so im hopeing for sumthing more popular i looked around and i dont know much at all about engines and sizes ect...

A: I doubt that there are many bolt in replacements. I've seen and heard of swaps from 4 cylinder elantras or tiburon. Aparently to use them u need custom motor mounts, exhaust, and to do your own wiring. I have never heard of a turbo kit for the accent, but you could do a custom job with any turbo, a custom exhaust manifold, computer tuning, ect. Search google for how to turbo a car and you'll get enough results.

Q: Antifreeze level decreases drastically in Hyundai Accent 2000?
Hi, I've a Hyundai accent 2000. The engine get heated very fastly (within 10 miles). I had it checked it and found that the coolant level is very low. I filled it but I noticed a significant loss of coolant within couple of days. There is no leak at all. Has any one experienced the same problem? Any solutions? Thanks Krishnan SAkthivel.

A: see if you have any water in you engine oil. could be a blown head gasket. also just adding water is not a good idea, it must be a 50/50 mix. antifreeze boils at a higher temp than water. also check your radiator cap. if it's no longer any good it's allowing the water to get to a higher temp than need be. replace the cap just to be safe. if it's not sealing correctly that allows the mixture to rise to a higher temp. after you've added water, how long does it take for the engine to overheat? if within a few miles it may be the thermostat. just a few suggestions to look at. good luck to ya.
