Q: Does anybody know about the warranty for a 2005 Hyundai Accent Purchased in Canada?
Hi it seems like I need to have a calipher replaced (or some pins) for the brake on the drivers side of my 2005 Hyundai Accent - does anybody know if this would this be something that would be covered by Hyundai warranty? Before I contact my dealership I just wanted to have an idea of what I am up against. Thank

A: It is possible that that will b covered. If the caliper has failed for any reason (leaking, broken etc) it should be covered as long as you are under 100,000km. The only way it may bot be covered is if you have not done any maintenance to the brakes (brakes services) and the calipers are sticking it may be part of your maintenance and not a warranty repair.

Q: What kind of tires should a 2005 Hyundai Accent have?
Mine are all mismatched, and it's messing with my alignment. How much would replacement tires generally run?

A: A very good source to use is tirerack.com. I've gotten up to 50% off a set of tires using them. Not as convenant like Sears or Goodyear but you could save some money if you are willing to wait a day or two for shipping. I think the Accent uses a brand called Kumho. A decent tire at a good price. I have them for my Elantra. No complants.

Q: How do i change the back brakes of my 2005 Hyundai Accent?
My brother was trying to change my back brakes but he couldn't get a part off. Any Ideas?!? Or maybe an idea as to where I can find an online repair manual?

A: Nothing on line, but Auto Zone and other parts places can print out instructions or you can see is there is a Haynes or Chilton manual for this car. try penetrating oil to get the part loose.

Q: What does the malfunction indicator light mean on a 2005 Hyundai Accent?
3 years ago when I first bought my car the malfunction indicator light went on and I had to pay $200 for what turned out to be a loose gas cap. To prevent such again I was wondering if someone could tell me how to correct this AND/OR what other actual serious problem might be occurring because this light is on.

A: only way to tell what is actually wrong is hook it up to a diagnostic scanner , most auto parts stores do this for free

Q: Where can I find a performance exhaust system for my 2005 hyundai accent?
No biased answers please, this is for people who own this car.

A: Alright, well depending on where you live.. The best place though, for the best price I would recommend Ebay. You can get the same name brand stuff for like 200 bucks cheaper. I'm not saying trust it all, or even do it.. But you may want to look into it. As for Exhasust and stuff, it doesn't really matter, just make sure they're good. But other than that you can go to Hyundai fourms.. They'll tell you where you can get the best stuff for the car, and since they work on the car, they can tell you what they perfer and whats the best bang for the buck.

Q: How do you remove the dash on a 2005 Hyundai accent so that I can install a radio?

A: Go to Kragen or Auto Zone, and buy yourself a how-to book for your car. It should have instructions on how to remove anything you want, because it is often accomplished by removing components in a certain order. BTW.... you're probably going to need special tools for your radio anyways... so ya might want to stop by an audio store first, to make sure you're nor making a huge mistake.... cuz you rarely have to remove the dash to put in a radio...

Q: do you know the interior weight capacity for a 2005 Hyundai Accent?
no spam!

A: Look on door jamb. Subtract vehicle (net) weight from the gross weight and you will have the total "safe" load. This number would count all passengers, luggage, etc. Also check tires for proper inflation and condition if you are planning to carry a maximum load. And leave a little extra room for braking.

Q: 2005 Hyundai Accent Warranty Question?
Hi it seems like I need to have a calipher replaced (or some pins) for the brake on the drivers side of my 2005 Hyundai Accent - does anybody know if this would this be something that would be covered by Hyundai warranty? Before I contact my dealership I just wanted to have an idea of what I am up against. Thank you

A: There are many different warranties available from automobile companies, therefore it is near impossible to tell if it would be covered. Also if your car is used it almost definitely will not be covered. If it was bought new there is a possibility, that it may be covered but if it is a brake caliper then it would be considered regular maintenance like tires or brake pads. I would just call the nearest Hyundai Dealer and see.

Q: 2005 Hyundai Accent Engine Light?
My car is a 2005 Hyundai Accent the engine light is ALWAYS on. I've brought it into the Hyundai dealer that I bought the car from and they say nothing is wrong with the engine. I've read the owner's manual and the only suggestion is that the fuel cap isn't tight enough. I've tried that too. Any suggestions? Why is the light on? It is so ANNOYING,

A: my '05 Accent is still under warranty if they do not fix it, report the lack of help from the dealer to Hyundai i just bought an '08 elantra, the owner's manual states: Any claim or dispute you may have relating to your vehicle's warranty or other duties contemplated under the warranty....shall be resolved by binding arbitration....through the National Arbitration Forum or the American Arbitration Association. ....You will not be responsible for paying filing and hearing fees above $275. All other arbitration costs shall be borne by Hyundai Motor America.... Look In The Owners Manual...if your car is under the 5 yr/60K mi warranty

Q: 2005 Hyundai Accent question...?
I am considering purchasing a used 2005 Hyundai Accent with 26, 000 miles on it. I took it for a drive yesterday and really liked it. BUT....I would like to know a few things about them before I actually buy it. I am planning on having my mechanic look it over sometime and see what he has to say about it too. How do the accents handle in the winter? I live in Central NY where we can get A LOT of snow in one day. Do they do well in wintry conditions? I am planning to put good snow tires and studs on all four tires on whatever car I buy....already had an incident with icy roads.... Also, I have been reading alot about replacing the timing belt at 60,000-70,000 miles,.. is there a defect with that or something? Or is it just usual wear and tear of that many miles? I am pretty good about getting my cars serviced...I have a mechanic who is fenomonal....but is the Hyundai something I can take to any shop...or is it necessary to take it to a dealership? I don't tend to trust dealerships,

A: The dealership is actually the best place to get a car serviced, but also the most expensive. The dealer specializes in whatever make it is, while a mechanic does every car. However, there are mechanincs out there who are phenominal, and CAN work on every car. As far as Hyundai's go, it is a make of car that usually has more problems faster than with any GM cars. Kia's are the same way. In the winter, make sure you have a new battery, as this will give you optimal power in the cold conditions. Keep tire pressure as recommended by the manufacturer. Preventive maintenace checkups, while somewhat pricey, should be done every 30,000 miles, while as you probably know, oil change every 3,000 and tire rotation every 6,000. Keeping up good maintenece on your car will help prevent anything major in the future.

Q: What socket size for hyundai accent 2005 oil plug?
im stuck in a garage here with my friend and he cant seem to find the right socket, we dont have a full set, but someone told me a 14 would work, but it doesnt.... any help on what socket size? and also it seems really tight any ideas how to remove ??

A: Try 12-point socket. Don't know the exact huyndai size but it's definitely metric. Usually, 14mm (like Toyota) or 17mm (like Honda) work.

Q: 2005 Hyundai Accent Shifting Problems?
I have a 2005 Hyundai Accent that I brought brand new. It is an automatic. It has very low mileage, and has only been driven in Hawaii, on the island of Oahu. I have gotten the car serviced as I was supposed to, changed all fluids frequently, etc. About a month ago, I started the car normally, a found that I could not put the car in gear. The button on the shifter wouldn't depress at all. I had to do the shift lock over ride to get the car in gear. This is still going on. I cannot shift the car into any gear without using the shift lock over ride. I called 3 different places here and before I could even get through my explanation of the problem, they all said the same thing - "you need a new transmission." I just don't understand how they could say that without even looking at the car. My question is this - is that the fix for this? Thank you for your time and help. Yes, there are 2 hyundai dealerships here, both of which told me I needed a new transmission.

A: There is a range switch as well as a shift lock solenoid. If either of these is malfunctioning (sounds like the solenoid) you will have to keep manually overriding it. If you are able to over ride it and put it into drive your transmission is fine. Do you have a Hyundai Dealer around there?

Q: where are the timing marks for a 2005 Hyundai accent?

A: on cam sprocket theres a little hole that points roughly downwards then look through it with a torch and if its lined up you see the mark. crank gear theres a little arrow that lines up with a mark on the block to the right. if you replace the belt yourself you will void your warranty. have you done 90,000km?if not its not due.
