Q: Hyundai Santa Fe. 2006 Reversing delay once reverse has been selected?
When you put the car in reverse there is approx 8 - 10 second delay prior to the transmission engaging reverse. This is on the automatic Santa Fe 2006 model.
A: Does the vehicle jerk or allow you to rev the engine while waiting for the gear to engage? After checking the transmission level you should proceed immediately back to your Hyundai dealer to have the transmission checked. It sounds like your transmission is slipping, which could require replacement, hopefully the warranty will cover it if that is the case (10 yr, 100K power train warranty I believe). You could also take it to a transmission specialty shop if the dealer trys telling you there's no problem, just for your piece of mind.
Q: Looking to finance new "2006" Hyundai Santa Fe. Credit score of 503 and little cash, no trade in. Ideas??
and, no, this is NOT an ad to buy one from someone on here. I'm asking for ideas because of my poor credit score, and little money down. However, I do have a job that has been held for over a year. Make $13.50/hr, and rent is only $625/mth. Looking to hear the best way to get into a new 2006 model vehicle within the next month.
i know that hyundais are fairly easy to get into. and, i also would like more of a family car....something bigger than a sedan. is this going to be possible?
how would i find out where to finance a used car then? the problem with them, is that there is no rebate, which would really help offset the down payment that i will have only a little of.
A: I just bought a used 2006 Trailblazer with less than 10k miles. Because the brand new vehicle is going to depreciate so much almost immediately, it made more sense to buy an almost new truck. I saved almost $10,000 from what the same truck would have cost at the Chevy dealer. That's a lot more than I would've saved with rebates. I got mine through CarMax, they have a lot of selection and I think they have a lot of financing options as well (although I'm not sure because I brought my own financing). Another option is to shop around for financing once you have the vehicle picked out. A lot of times you can find better rates than what the dealer can give you. Go to several different banks and get quotes and see who gives you the best rate. (This may put hits on your credit though, sometimes it can look bad to have too many inquiries in too short of a time.)
Q: I'd like to know what your comments are on the Hyundai SANTA FE 2006.?
A: Ah the Hyundai Santa Fe. The 2006 model is the last of the current looking Santa Fe's. The 2007 model gets a brand new facelift and a bigger engine. As for the 2006 you should quie enjoy it. The 2006 model comes with a 2.7L engine giving 170bhp and a 3.5L engine giving 200bhp. Both engines are V6's but the 3.5L is a bit more thirsty at the gas pump than most people would expect to like.
Safety isn't ignored on the Santa Fe because you get 4 wheel ABS brakes, traction control, side airbags on the front and great crash test ratings.
The interior is well spaced and well equiped. Dashboard instrumnts are in well order and not cluttered. Also pretty visually appealing. I myself find the seats a little awkward to sit in but thats because i'm a tall person.
As for driving goes its basiaclly a well priced all around mid sized SUV. The suspension is soft but shouldnt be too much of a matter for most drivers.
Q: Would an a/c compressor from a 2006 6 Cyl, 2.7L, Hyundai Santa Fe fit my 2001 model with the same engine size?
A: As long as the build date of the Santa Fe was after 10/18/01 it will fit all the way through the 06 model year. Part #97701-26300 (or 97701-26300-RM for the reman).
Q: Help with Winter RIM size for Hyundai Santa Fe ?
I have a 2006 Santa Fe - and am trying to figure out winter tires - and steel rims for this vehicle. I know my tire size - 225/70R16, but the 16 inch rim needed is the mystery.
The RIM size required is 16 inch rim, vehicle spec is 6.5 JX16. Can I fit a 7.0 JX16 rim on it.?
Another question is the 5 holes in the rim? Are these holes standard for all rims with 5 holes?
Reason I am asking is a found a set of tires with rims - correct size tire, and rim is 16in - but the 7.0 JX16 rim. Also - concerned about the 5 holes - if they will just fit or not. (they are from a Volvo SUV)
Thanks in advance.
A: going from a 6.5" width to a 7" width will not hurt the size tires you are using. Offhand, I believe that the bolt pattern on the Hyundai wheels and the Volvo wheels are different . call the Hyundai dealer and ask them
The best way to do it is a test fit. Just attempt to mount them. If the bolt pattern is wrong you will know instantly because the wheels won't even go on. If offset, center bore, or width is incorrect you will also find that out.
Q: opinions of the Hyundai Santa Fe? new or older?
what are your opinions of it? age range from 2003-2006. pros and cons. thanks guys!
A: I just traded in my 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe.
I LOVED THIS "CAR"!
It handled great! I live up north and it would ride over snowbanks with barely a growl!
She was zippy and trust worthy and roomy. If we hadn't had more kids..I would have kept her! My husband just traded in his 2004 Santa Fe for a sexy little mid life crisis car.
Not only is it a great car..but if you are going to buy it used..you may still qualify for the 100,000 mile 10 year warranty!
Check into it! good luck!
it also has a good trade in value:

Q: Help with a car comparison please. ?
Me and my bf are going to be buying a slightly used SUV. The two we are looking the closest at are 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe AWD and a 2006 Subaru Tribeca AWD. Both vehicles have great marks on consumer reports. Now assuming both cars have the same options for the most part (leather, moonroof, no third row seat etc..) and both cars have the same mileage (even though the Subaru is a year older) and they are for sale for virtually the same price.
In your opinion which is the better buy and why.
A: Even it is my opinion that the Tribeca is kind of ugly, I would buy it over the Santa Fe. Subaru has a better reputation for quality.
Q: In the market for a car/SUV, help?
Hello. I would just like to get some owner's or people that know about the following cars to answer with information about how good (ie. reliable, comfortable, gas milage, etc.) These are the cars.
GMC Envoy, GMC Arcadia, 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT, Chevrolet Equinox, Saturn Outlook, Honda Pilot, Toyota Rav4, Toyota Highlander, Honda CR-V, and Hyundai Santa Fe.
If you can think of any other good cars (Please no ford products), please, feel free to name them!! Thank you.
A: The only one I can help you with is the Honda Pilot. My parents have owned one for almost three years. They haven't had any mechanical issues with it. They actually are bigger than they look like from the outside. They have a third seat in the back they can use. The drive on the highway is quiet and it's a smooth ride. As far as gas mileage, it gets probably 26-28 miles per gallon. If I was you I would pick up a copy of a Consumer Reports magazine. Every so often they review just about any major car/truck/suv and list the pros and cons.
