i bought a new radio for my 2000 hyundai Sonata and plan on having someone i know(that has had a little experience with car stereos) replace it for me. how is he supposed to remove the dashboard and wood trim to get to the radio without damaging anything that needs to be put back?

A: First look for any screws and remove them. Second, gently pull the corner of pieces to pop them from the holders without damaging them, you may need a flathead screwdriver and towel (to prevent surface damage, place under screwdriver) to get in between. Take your time, after you get the first piece off it should be easier to remove the rest.

A: Take it to the dealer... I just had a battery replaced on mine, let the dealer do it and they didn't even charge me for the battery. If there was any problem they also took care of that as it works great now. (I wasn't there when they did it)

A: i can tell you my brother just had his replaced on his accent. they want the water pump done too, because its behind the belt. it cost him$550. and that was at sts tire center. you should shop around for prices. call a few places. its different everywhere. but i think it would be cheaper if you go to a local guy than to a big place. hopes this helps

Ok so im at my car looking for the port to put in some cool refrigerant cause my airconditiong is WARM... and can't find it. So does anyone know where it is located or where I can look it up on the web to find it? I wanna do this before it gets dark!

A: look at the compressor, there is two aluminum lines, one low side and one high side, DON"T mess with the high pressure side, look on the left side of the motor by the fender and follow the line, there will be a black or blue cap on the line, this will be the low pressure service port, make sure you change the O rings on the compressor, and put a little ester oil on them, something made your R-134 leak out, and before you put freon in, put a can of oil charge in. Another way to tell high and low is the high side has a smaller port and won't fit the filler connection.

Q: I have a 2000 Hyundai Sonata and the rear tires keep going flat. What causes this?
I took my car to a tire dealer a couple of days ago because one tire was flat and the other was low on air pressure. The dealer said there was nothing wrong with either tire. They did sand down some of the corrosion on the rims and said that would solve the problem. However, today one of the tires is nearly flat again. What gives?

A: There is a variety of issues that are possible. 1)A they havent found a leak in the actual tires that may be allowing air to escape, rule out the tires first 2) the corrosion on the rims that you identified means that it is possible the corrosion is both on the outside and on the inside of the rim. If the corrosion is heavy, it is possible that it caused the rims to be more porous and air can escape from other areas besides where the rubber and the rim meet. I suggest bringing it to a tire place to reduce costs and get a second opinion unless the dealer would be willing to look at their work again for free to fix the issue. If not, the next suggestion might be to replace the rims on both sides if they are irreparable, since water somehow got inside the tire when it was filled up within your ownership. good luck.

I just bought the car from a Saturn dealership and the previous owner only turned in one key and the owners manual was also missing. I'd also like to be able to have some kind of push button gizmo to lock & unlock the doors & trunk lid. Thanx for any help! The car does have power locks. Can the remote key entry be bought at a parts store or does that have to come from a Hyundai dealer? Thanks Andy T. Is there a way I can tell if the unit had a remote key system? A: The owners manual part # is Y0000-406, according to the Hyundai parts catalog. The keyless entry remote part # is 95760-38000. Check with the local Hyundai dealer to see if your car was originally equipped with keyless entry. If it was buy a remote and they will program it for you. If it was not, there is no "kit" available to add it from Hyundai. You should check with the local stereo shop to see if they sell a universal keyless set up.

Q: Airbag light on in a 2000 hyundai sonata and don't know why?
It just came on a few days ago and don't have the money to get it into the shop anytime soon. I want to make sure that I am not going to do any major damage to it by driving it like that and see if someone might have an idea why it would come on in the first place.

A: Usually this means the sensor has gone bad and when the light is on it is telling you that the airbag will not work in a crash. A: on the breather tube going from the air cleaner housing to the throttle body, it should be in the rubber tubing, you will see wires coming out of it,........or it may be part of the mass air meter..........if there are no wires on the breather tube then it is one of the earlier model cars, and the whole air flow meter has to be replaced

A: This is a common thing asked by many Hyundai owners. I think the problem lies in their supplier of air conditioning systems, after a few years the seals wear down and the gas used leaks out. All you need to do is take it to a shop and have it overhauled. Unless you don't have one that is, in such case you are looking at $600 used. What they will do for about $100 or less change all the seals and gaskets and fill it up for you.
