Q: Where Is The Kill Switch On A 2003 Hyundai Sonata?
I have a 2003 Hyundai Sonata and was wondering if or where there might be a "fuel shut off switch" or a "kill switch"

A: And once again, not one has read the question, which asks "Is there an inertia switch which cuts off fuel flow in case of an accident?" if you read it. Look at the drivers side under the dash area for a hole with a push button, if there isn't one there, check the trunk, again probably on the driver's side for the reset. If you bumped something fairly hard, or if the airbag went off, it probably needs to be reset.

Q: Would A 2003 Hyundai Sonata Be A Good Car?
I'm looking at a 2003 hyundai sonata for my first car (Getting my license in September) It is in excellent running condition and has a very clean interior. It has 134,000 miles, but I've heard that hyundai's are reliable so this will not be a major problem. I'm just looking for a reliable car that will last me through high school. Tell me your thoughts and suggestions, thanks.

A: They are excellent cars and have plenty of extras as standard. As long as you keep it regularly serviced the mileage won't make any difference. Just make sure you give it a thorough check (or, if you're not mechanically minded, get someone who is). Good luck.

Q: I have a question about a 2003 hyundai sonata?
Do you have to get the battery from hyundai or can you get it from a sears or an autozone?

A: you can get it from ne store, just tell them what kind of care u have n they can look up what battery u would need.

Q: How do I go about getting a replacement key for my 2003 Hyundai Sonata?
Is there anyway I can get another key for the car. What about if I ever need to replace the remote entry controller.

A: the dealership...call the service department and they'll gwt it sorted out...expensive for sure... if you just want the key a place like canadian tire can cut one pretty cheaply

Q: What is the best way to run amp wires in a 2003 Hyundai Sonata?
Hoping to hear from someone who has the car, and has hooked up an aftermarket sound system. I want to try and avoid drilling any holes if at all possible. Just thought I would ask on here before I dive into the project myself. Thanks in advance!

A: as a rule there are wires coming through the fire wall somewhere, so just try to fit the power wire in there with the others to get it inside of the cars cabin, then run it down the side under the door sills (or under the molding that goes over the doors) to where you want it if you do end up having to drill through the firewall use some bushings to guard against corrosion ans keep it air/watertight, here are some http://www.crutchfield.com/g_183750/Firewall-Bushings.html?search=bushings&tp=2161

Q: I have a 2003 Hyundai Sonata and my boyfriend lost the alarm thing with the key. I have another key.?
I have another key and I am wondering how much it costs to replace get another key. I am also wondering if the car will start if I only have the key and not the alarm disabling device. Help!!! The service department is closed. the answer was close but not exact. We had to turn the key PAST the auxilary position all the way for 90 seconds, having all the lights on like the brake and engine light, then we had to completely pull out the key wait for fifteen seconds and try to start it again. That is how we reset the alarm.

A: With my Hyundai, if you try to open the car without the "fob", by using just the key, the alarm will sound. You must get into the car while the alarm is sounding, put the key into the ignition, turn the key to the "accessory" position, turn it back off, wait one minute exactly, then the car will start. It sounds crazy, but it is a built in system to discourage people from stealing your car if they happen to get a copy of your key. PS Don't tell anybody!

Q: Does a 2003 Hyundai Sonata with a 4 cylinder engine have a carburetor?
I know that the carburetor blends the air and fuel, but does this model car actually have one? Will fuel system cleaners damage this engine? Like the kind you can use while filling your gas tank up? I was just thinking about using one because my car idles hard while stopped in drive. Probably about time for new spark plugs

A: No, there are no modern cars being produced that use carburetors, your car uses Multiport Electronic Fuel Injection. This means that there is one fuel injector per cylinder in the intake manifold. Air is ingested, then passed through a filter, then to the intake manifold where the fuel injectors spray an precisely metered atomized mist of fuel. There are sensors all around the car telling the engine computer how much fuel to use. Sensors such as speed, engine RPM, throttle angle, mass intake airflow, manifold absolute pressure/vacuum, and oxygen report to the computer to help it lookup values in a table to make the engine run cleanly and efficiently, it then "tells" the fuel injectors to open/spray fuel for a certain period of time, called pulse width. Hope this helps some and good luck! Edit: Fuel cleaners will not hurt this engine, although with the solvents that are already in gasoline, it seems unnecessary to me. The money is much better spent on other maintenance items.

Q: I have lost my keyless entry for my 2003 Hyundai sonata, I cannot start my car because the alarm goes off.?
Is there a alarm override button or how can I get my car to start? I have a spare key but no keyless entry remote.

A: Your Hyundai dealer should have extra keyless entry remote. There's always a way to hack in to cars, but it's not recommended.

Q: Would you feel comfortable purchasing a 2003 Hyundai Sonata LX with 75,000 miles on it?
I don't know much about cars, I just want to know if you think it will run well and last for a while. What do you think?

A: Hyundais have recently been much improved in reliability over the initial 15 or so years they were available to the American car-buying public. I would say that the answer to your question is largely dependant on the sale price of the Sonata and the condtition of the car. In my opinion, this car should easily last another 50-75k miles with proper maintenance. Kelly dealer retail value is $10,200 on this car, supposing average options. They are usually high on both trade in and resale, so if i were you, I would offer $8000 for the car and let them pick you up from there. Good luck with your purchase! PS: Anyone that says Hyundais are bad cars blindly obviously hasn't done much research on the brand. And try to get a 2003 Honda, Nissan or Toyota with those miles... Good luck. :P

Q: 2003 Hyundai Sonata 4cyl. I am unable to put gas in the gas tank. I have to let it trickle in to fill the tank
The gas seems to not go into the tank as the air is not venting out. I disconected one of the vent lines on the canister and it still seems like the gas fills the tube then trickles into the tank. What do I look for? what do I change?

A: check for obstrutions in the fill tube and vent lines have you ever heard of someone putting a pingpong ball in a gas tenk not fun don't run when low because the ball stops the gas from entering the gas line and when trying to fiill it up the ball floats into the filltube, you may have to drop the tank and inspect it from inside.

Q: Where is the fog light switch located on a 2003 Hyundai Sonata?

A: Under the passenger seat

Q: My Hyundai Sonata 2003 (03) reg has something is stuck in the boot lock.It won't open. How can I fix it?
The rear seats fold but at the moment the boot is full. Do I need to empty it?

A: Guess it would help if I knew what a boot lock was... what are you asking or is this just a slang I don't know?

Q: block heater for 2003 hyundai sonata?
Can anyone instruct me on how to install a block heater for a 2003 hyundai sonata please. Thank you

A: They sell a magnetic block heater at most parts stores, simply attach it to your oil pan and plug it in at night. It will keep your oil warm and your engine should start right up.DONT forget to unplug it before you drive off. They also sell a dipstick oil heater that goes into the engine oil level tube, just take out your regular dipstick and replace with the heater and plug in.Good luck to you.

Q: I bought a Hyundai Sonata V6 2003 and I feel there is a little shacking in the Car?
The shaking usugally strat when i reach 80 KM Per Houre and keeps shaking untill i reach 100 or 120 KM Per Houre and then it goes by it self? Note : The tires are in fine condidtion and they are almost balanced and the shacking sometime quite strong and sometimes not!

A: First of all the Hyundai when it first came out was recalled due to unstability in the front train of the car. I saw a woman driving a new one and all of a sudden the front left tire fell off due to a broken suspention. Now, you said almost balanced. There is no almost balanced you either have the tires balanced or not and with the proper weights locked on the rims. The shaking because one or more of the following need immediate attention: tie rods bushings ball joints rack and pinion steering The shaking is due to one or more of the above mentioned being damaged and are about to break and fall apart. Also with this, the ball bearings can be broken which will contribute to the shaking of the car. At high speeds it is dangerous because the faster you go the more it will shake and the more it shakes the more the part will break and when this happens well you know what will happen. Even though the tires are in good condition, some times the get tiny bulges or lumps which means that the tire is no good and can explode, which is also another factor. These tiny bulges in many cases are hard to see with the plain eye. I would always run my hand around the tire once in a while to check for bulges that are not easily visible because once a tire on a car I had did have a bulge that I did not notice and the car was unbalanced. Best it to tow it to a pro and have them replace and repair it. Price? Well depends on what is to be replaced, repaired and the time the mechanic takes on it. If the car is worth it, then repair it, but for a Hyundai, I would trade it in and get a better car. Too many were recalled and I have seen many junked due to this problem.

Q: Hi, I'm trying to help troubleshoot my mom's 2003 Hyundai Sonata over the telephone.?
My mom drives a 2003 Hyundai Sonata and it just went over 100,000 miles. The car is really starting to give her a hard time. Over the past year she has changed the clutch, all of the belts and hoses and most recently the balancing wheel. On Friday, she was having the balancing wheel replaced, unfortunately, the mechanic had the wrong part and ended up re-installing the original balancing wheel. On Saturday, the car was driveable, but today the car won't go into gear (manual). Is it possible that the balancing wheel isn't fully installed and is causing the car to not go into gear?

A: Very possible, whenever a car is in the shop and then has a problem a few days later its almost always due to something the mechanic messed up. I hope the mechanic ordered the correct part and will fix the car right this time. You might want to also check the transmission fluid, he may not have filled it all the way or at all?
