Q: how do you align the headlights on a 2005 hyundai sonata?

A: Because this is so important, I would take it to the dealer. They have the chart on the wall to do just that. Guess work on this is not good, because here , they can fail your MVI if your lights are not aligned right.

Q: i just bought a 2005 hyundai sonata gold.?
i like everything about the car, how it looks, interior. the only thing i am concerned is when i am driving it not going fast, it just taking time and getting speed. wordst is when i stop at the stop light i have to listen a lot of horn from others. what should i do?

A: I just bought one today, it's beautiful!!! I love the look of them. You probably bought the 4 cyc model, which is a little slow, but it still is a great car overall. Enjoy your car. Try getting a K@n air filter on it, it should help a little bit.

Q: Why am I getting significantly lower gas mileage in city than I should with my 2005 Hyundai Sonata?
I bought my Sonata last June and it only had 27,000 miles on it. I have only put 6,000 on it. I am getting about 14 to 15 MPG in city and 27 to 29 on the highway. The car is rated at 19/27. So, the highway is great, but city is bad. My question is why am I getting such bad city mileage? I have my oil changed regularly and the injectors have been cleaned. I don't hot rod it. Most of my driving is in city, so this is costing me more than it should. I know that the rating is an estimation, but 4 to 5 miles a gallon just doesn't seem right. Any suggestions?

A: City driving mpg is the hardest thing to estimate on a vehicle, because there are so many factors that go into making that estimation. For one, you have to understand that those numbers are produced inside a warehouse... and they don't account for the numerous stops, nor your driving tendencies... it also does not account for the weight you are carrying in the vehicle as well. To improve your city MPG, make sure your tires are inflated to the correct PSI, and do not stomp on the gas when you accelerate from stop signs/lights. The majority of gas is used when you first move from a complete stop... so be very easy on the accelerator and try not to idle at all, if possible. You know what your gas mileage is when your engine is running but you're not moving? ZERO. Also, use cruise control when possible. Just remember, every time you step on that gas pedal you're using precious $3.75/gallon gasoline. The less you press on the pedal, the better.

Q: should i buy a 2005 hyundai sonata with 36k miles on it for $8000?
its pearl white (what i always wanted) and its power everything (i always wanted that too) the thing is i dont like the back, the front is hot it looks like a mercedes, but the back isnt pushed up at all and i wanted it to have a pushed up flat rear like a nissan altima or a vw jetta. i guess i can settle for that. i saw it yesterday and drove it, it was really nice, but has a dent in the rear thats hardley noticible(but its big)my boyfriend can pop it out. not scratches or anything on the paint, and the carpet inside is dirty but if i got it detailed it would look brand new. there has been only one owner clean car fax, and its been maintenced very well, boyfriend checked the engine perfect oil and transmission fluid. im 17 and i know you are thinking dont buy a new car buy a old one, i did and it broke on me last thursday, yes i am paying for this by myself but the loan is in my moms name.. do you think i should get this car? its incredibly clean we are buying it from a private owner he had it listed for $8900 but my boyfriend's dad talked him down to $8000 it also well have a 5 year 60k warranty when i get it

A: YOU WILL NOT GET THE REMAINING WARRANTY. IT DOES NOT TRANSFER. PLEASE CALL YOUR LOCAL DEALER FOR DETAILS. Besides that I think that this a good deal. I have a 06 Sonata and I love it.

Q: How much would you pay for a 2005 Hyundai Sonata?
This car is in great condition. It is the luxury model. Leather seats, wooden console, power locks and windows, sunroof/moonroof, am/fm radio, Cd Player and Cassette Player. It is blue in color and the sticker price was 22,000. It has less than 30,000 miles on it. Just wondering what I should sale it for. We owe 15,000 on it and I was wondering if we could get that or are we going to need to take a loss. We need a bigger vehicle for a growing family or else I would not be getting rid of it.

A: $12

Q: Hyundai Sonata or Kia Rio?
'm going to purchase a vehicle today. Would you get a 2006 Kia Rio or a 2005 Hyundai Sonata? Which is the better car? I like the way the 2005 Sonata looks better than the 06 Rio. What do you think?? Thanks!

A: The Sonata is the more upscale Hyundai model, Rio is a an entry level car. Hyundai has the 100,000 mile warranty, The Kia is newer and will likely have less damage. I'd go with the Sonata, I think that year Sonata Model bested the Camry and the Accord.

Q: what is a better car? a 2007 hyundai sonata or 2005 nissan altima?

A: Overall the Sonata is the better car. The Altima handles a little better and is a touch quicker but is behind when safety and comfort is concerned. No Electronic Stability Control or Traction Control Systems. The cabin is smaller meaning less room for passengers and even with it being used (assuming your buying a used not new Sonata) it still has a better warranty - 5 yrs 60,000 miles. The Altima's may have already ran out being only 3 yr - 36,000 miles. Plus, you have to be careful about the 2005 Altima's. They have had some recalls http://x.nissanhelp.com/forums/Knowledgebase/links/371 if you choose the Altima make sure the seller has answered the recalls properly. Actually, you may want to look into a new 2008 Sonata due to the $3000 cash back offer going on now.

Q: How do you chance the inside LED temperature gauge from Celsius to Fahrenheit on a Hyundai?
I have a 2005 Hyundai Sonata. My LED went to celsius when I changed bateries. Is there a 2 button combination or something special I need to do to get it back to fahrenheit?

A: When you got a new battery it must have reset the factory settings. To change it back you need to get into you setting at you dash, using through the same buttons as it is to look at millage and trip info you can access you car settings. In that set of buttons is there more then two or three one saying reset. Also look for you milage setting, cause there you canchange from MPH to KLM. so figuring out to do that should give you an idea on how to change from celcius to ferienhiet. If you cant figure it out, go to a dealer or any repair shop, and they can show you how to do it usely free or charger, take them about 1 min to do it. Hope this helps.

Q: Hyundai Sonata?
Hi... I own a 2005 Hyundai Sonata and would like to get my oil changed, but do not know which grade or which kind to use? I live in Michigan, so temperatures may range from 0-100...! IDK, anyways, if you can answer my question, please specify which kind of oil, or grade to use! If not, a website to search on would be prefferable....! Thank you

A: A good quality 5-30 engine oil is what hyundai recomends! for all temps. engine tolerances are to tight to run anything else. also make sure you go to a hyundai dealer and buy a hyundai oil filter, there is a tsb on engine noise, using aftermarket oil filters. i hope this is helpful.

Q: Cost of scratch repair for a Hyundai Sonata?
I put 3 five inch long scratches on the fender of a lady's burgundy 2005 Hyundai Sonata, two of the scratches are about the width of a toothpick while the other is about the size of a pencil eraser head. She doesn't want to involve the insurance company but I will be paying for her repairs, does anyone have any idea about how much I will be paying? (This happened last night and I haven't told my parents yet so I need to know so I can tell them) Thanks a lot!

A: That should cost around $300 to repaint, provided it's a color that is routine.

Q: Should I buy a 2005 Nissan Altima 3.5SE or a 2006/7 Hyundai Sonata GLS V6?
I am planning to buy a car within the next couple of years. So far, my choices are a 2005 Altima 3.5SE and a 2006/7 Hyundai Sonata GLS V6. I was originally planning to get the Altima, but it's reliability and build quality worries me. That's why I am also considering the Sonata because it's reliable, well-built, doesn't need premium gas, is bigger, roomier, safer, and is VERY cheap (2007 GLS V6-$14000). Should I really worry about the Altima's reliability? If anyone here has a 2005 3.5 SE can you please post how it has been? Also, if there is someone who actually drove both cars, please post a report. Thanks.

A: I have owned both brands and don't agree with any of the answers prior to mine...German cars and reliable/good value...yeah right. Anyway, I think these are both really good cars, reliable and a great value. The 3.5 engine is a great motor, though the 3.3 from Hyundai is no slouch. I don't think the Altima is any smaller or less safe then the Sonata, please do a comparison on http://www.edmunds.com to see. I previously owned a Nissan Maxima and Nissan Quest which were very nice and reliable. I currently own a Hyundai Azera which is the best car I've ever owned or driven, so you might want to consider a 2006 Azera in your search too. Nothing wrong with a Mazda 6, they are great cars, but a Honda Prelude hasn't been produced in...8 or 10 years I think, so it can't be very reliable, just cheap.

Q: The trunk on my car was keyed, any ideas on how to go about getting it fixed cheaply?
I have a 2005 Hyundai Sonata V6, and last week the trunk on my car was keyed along with my spoiler. Has anyone heard about a way I can fix it myself? Is there a way it can be fixed for cheap?

A: Yes, you should get it professionally fixed at a small mom and pop shop. And don't use insurance to do this. I used to work in the mall and of course had to park my car in the parking lot. I noticed one day when leaving work that some idiot had scratched my car all the way down to the steel. I immediately started looking at different places and getting quotes. I ended up going to a small mom and pop shop instead of a fancier one. The fancier one charged me about $500 while the smaller one charged me $150 without insurance. And they were a lot more personal and friendly. So, if a shop specializes in fixing Jaguars, you should just find another shop.
