Q: How do you set up the XM radio that comes with the 2007 Hyundai Sonata?
I just purchased the 2007 Hyundai Sonata and was told it came with a 3 month trial subscription of XM radio. I thought the dealership was going to set it up, but they didn't. I tried to get the radio ID so I could set it up on xmradio.com, but when I try to turn on the XM radio, it always says "XM loading." So I can't tune to 0 to get the ID. I know I have reception because my neighbor recently purchased the same car with XM radio, but the dealer set his up for him. Can someone help me so I can get this setup today (sunday) so I don't have to wait until the dealership reopens tomorrow?

A: You'll either have to take it to the dealership, or call XM. They have to activate it to allow your radio to receive the signal.

Q: Where can I go to have automatic folding side mirrors installed on a 2007 Hyundai Sonata in NJ?
Folding mirrors are not standard or optional on 2007 Hyundai Sonatas. Therefore, this would have to be a custom job.

A: He's talking about electronically folding mirrors, that is not standard except on maybe the Genesis. Yes, most cars have mirrors you can manually fold, on my Azera it was an option. I don't know where in NJ you can get it done, call some performance or repair shops.

Q: 2007 Hyundai Sonata what do you pay for it?
I know Hyundai is offing a $ 2,000 rebate, how much more can I expect get off?

A: Some of the final price will depend on where you live. The price of cars is all supply and demand, and the Sonata sells better in some parts of the country than others (assuming you live in the USA). You should not get a worse deal than invoice minus the rebate for the Sonata. In the Chicago area, you could get it for about $500 under invoice plus the 2000 rebate (or 2500 under invoice). I would suggest going to www.carsdirect.com and www.edmunds.com and get some quotes from dealers in your area emailed to you. Just make sure you are specific on the model you want and, if you can, ask for stock numbers so that they don't pull the old 'bait and switch' when you get to the dealership. Not sure if Jack (the answerer below) has ever gotten a good deal on a car, but the invoice price you and I see is not what the dealer actually paid for the car, so they will still make money. A dealer will never take a loss on a car deal, and they will sell a car even if the sales person only makes $50. The dealer will still make money on the Sonata that you buy for $500 under invoice (plus the $2000 rebate) in Chicago. Good luck.

Q: How do you program the 2007 Hyundai Sonata Remote?
I need to reprogram the remotes on my new Sonata but I can't find instructions. Can anyone help?

A: The dealer has to hook up their computer to the vehicle and reprogram the remotes through the body control module. Also; make sure you take all the remotes to the dealer. They will have to program all the remotes together. If one of the remotes is not programmed with the others it will not work. The dealer will usually charge between $45 and $95.

Q: How fast can you get the 2007 Hyundai Sonata to do the quarter mile?
My mom has one, she has the four banger but the V6 is pretty quick, not a racecar, but not a turtle either lol. I am just curious on how fast (sec) the V6 can do the quarter mile, thanks.

A: A 2006 V6 Sonata was on record of doing a 15.5 quarter mile, according to Car and Driver: http://www.caranddriver.com/roadtests/9741/hyundai-sonata-lx.html

Q: Did I do well to trade in my 2003 Pontiac Grand Am for a 2007 Hyundai Sonata?
My 2003 Pontiac Grand Am was total junk and had been in the shop 6 times for various repairs although it only had 36,000 miles when I traded it. My 2007 Hyundai Sonata is a great car, far superior to anything GM makes. The lazy UAW slobs are going to be out of work once people realize that one can buy a great Korean car at a great price. Eat the Sonata's dust, you lazy UAW slobs!!!!!!!!

A: Any car made after the year 2002 is not going to be worth a damn no matter who makes it. Korea is making cheap little rice rockets not made for out environment, cold climates, and winter roads. The parts are 75% plastic even the screws and clips are plastic. Why do you think you got a good deal? You are better off in an American made car. You are an American. I can say that as a UAW worker I am not a slob, I take pride in my work, as everyone does at my shop. Granholm has now put us almost completly out of work, and the Koreans are taking over. Now if you want to help them out, thats up to you, I for one will never buy another foreign car. I refuse to work on most of them. What do you do for a living?

Q: I bought a used 2007 Hyundai Sonata at an auction, is the car still covered under the original warranty?
Wondering if warranties carry over when buying a car used.

A: All I do is deal with Hyundai Warranty all day long, so trust me when I tell you this. You have a 5 year 60,000 mile bumper to bumper and also powertrain warranty. The first owner is the only one who gets the 10 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty.

Q: How much did you pay for your 2007 Hyundai Sonata Limited?
I'm in the market to buy one, but I'm still not sure if i'm getting the best deal. Please include wether the taxes and fees were included or not.

A: I do not drive a 2007 Hyundai Sonata but this edmunds.com forum could give you a better idea of what people paid for their cars. The link is given below:

Q: What is the wattage(watts) of the stereo in a 2007 Hyundai Sonata Limited Platinum Edition?
It comes with an Infinity sound system. But I cant find anywhere what the wattage on the system is.

A: I believe it's 360 watts MAX, which means in the real world, it may be about 175 total.

Q: Is there any special remote starter for a 2007 Hyundai Sonata? I was told I couldn't have one?
Trying to have a remote starter added to my car.Was told This model doesn't allow me to have one. It has an automantic trans and power everytrhing with a security system. I would like a remote starter added. Thank you.

A: All Hyundais, including yours, can be fit with remote starters. The only models that need adaptors for the computer are the Azera and Veracruz and probably the Genesis. All other models are basic installation, though it does cost more for manual transmissions. You should have it professionally installed (so you get the manufacturer's warranty) and you will get new remotes that operate the locks, trunk, alarm and the remote start. We use 'Cool Start Crimestopper' remote starts. The company that installs them warranties parts and labor for as long as you own your car. Whomever said you couldn't have one probably shouldn't be the one to install it anyway. Perhaps they are not up-to-date with the technology or don't even want to do it at all, so they make up a silly excuse. It is a little time consuming and there is a lot of electrical wire work involved. It can be difficult for some people to follow diagrams and schematics. Talk to your local Hyundai dealer. It shouldn't be much more than $300 for everything. http://www.audiowarehouse.peachhost.com/ct_CGremotestartandsecuritysystems.htm

Q: how many gallons of gas can fill up a 2007 Hyundai Sonata?
How many gallons does the tank takes?

A: Look in your owners manual, should be around 16 gallons.

Q: does anyone know how to activate the door locks on a 2007 hyundai sonata.?
i have a 2007 hyunday sonata, it has the feature where if you drive to a speed of over 25 miles an hour the doors automatically lock. i need to know how to activate it please.

A: you have to have the service department program them for you ..via the computer..Ask your salesperson about it they may be able to get the charge waved for you...chances are it will run you about $35.00 if they try and charge you anything more than that, it is ridiculous since it only takes about 3 minutes and they already bill you for 30 minutes.. If you got your salespersons survey and gave them a bad score..well you probably shouldn't bother to call them since they most likely won't want to help... Good Luck

Q: If you are the owner of either a 2006 or 2007 Hyundai Sonata how do you like it and have there been problems?
If there were or are problems please list. Thank you.

A: Own a '06 LX model. No problems in 7500 miles. Highway mileage about 32 mpg. City about 27 MPG. Very comfortable on long trips. Has enough power for all driving situations.Accessories all work fine. The only other car I would recommend is their Azera Limited which is terrific. Little less MPG but a really comfortable car for cruising.
