Q: How do you hack the Infinity navigation system on a 2009 Hyundai Sonata?
Need to be able to allow the passengers to watch DVDs while driving.
The nav system lets you watch DVDs but only when in 'P'ark. I want to be able to play them when in 'D'rive.
A: What will they be watching on? That little navigation screen?
I really don't think you will be able to make it play while in drive. It's a safety issue.
Q: How do you use the Ipod usb feature in the 2009 Hyundai Sonata?
When I plug the ipod in to the USB jack it transfers the information to the dashboard but instead of the CD names and songs being displayed I am getting the original ipod file names (example: XF001, PTU05 etc.)
HELP!
A: I will get back to you. I have an 09 Sonata and have used my usb memory stick to play songs but not a Ipod. I will get my son to try his and see what happens.
Q: What is the cheapest someone has gotten a 2009 hyundai sonata for?
A: $16500 for my 09 GLS in Daphne AL. That included a $1500 rebate
Q: How much would it cost to replace the windshield of a 2009 Hyundai Sonata (and what about cost of the hood?)?
The hood got dented and scratched from a car wash thingy and the Windshield also got scratched, any ideas on an estimate cost to fix or replace?
A: Call your local glass replacement company and body shop to get quotes. If you just want an estimate...$350 for the windshield replacement, new painted hood will be about $1100.
Q: I just bought a 2009 Hyundai Sonata and it pulls to the right.?
It has 245 miles on it and I've had it for 2 weeks. If I take it to the dealership would it be covered under the warranty? What could it be? Alignment, balance?
A: Your vehicle has a 12 month, 12,000 mile adjustment warranty which covers alignment and wheel balance, etc. Don't wait too long to have it repaired, it could cause the tires to wear. Take it to the dealer, they will have it aligned for you.
Q: which is better a 2009 toyota camry or a 2009 hyundai sonata?
smoother on road, less wind noise and more comfortable.
A: To answer your question you'll need to personally test drive both vehicles as only you know what is comfortable for your body and driving style. I'm sure they are both smooth and have good noise retarding material for a quiet ride since they are new cars. You may also want to consider the brand new 2009 Mazda 6 its getting good reviews and Mazda has always been a fairly good brand. However, between the Sonata and Camry I'd go with the Sonata as the Camry is to boring and cheap looking yet expensive.
BTW, I drive a 2006 Hyundai Azera Limited and my wife and I both love driving it.
Q: Does anyone know if you can use an IPOD touch with IPOD integration option in 2009 Hyundai Sonata?
I tried connecting the IPOD touch through the USB port in the car but it keeps giving a reading error. Let me know if someone has able to make it work
A: i have this car its weird when u plug it in ur songs dont come up the files do but it works anyway u just gotta keep hearing for the song uw ant cuz u cant see what it is i havent figured out how to display the name yett
Q: Which car is better, 2009 hyundai sonata gls I4 or 2009 nissan altima s I4?
I want to get the base models with a manual transmission.
A: hyundai reliability has overtaken nissans and their warranty is better.
Q: Attention 2009 Hyundai Sonata owners...help please!!!!?
I'm thinking about purchasing a 2009 Sonata and was just reading some reviews online and someone said that it would be nice if all the windows were power, not just the driver side. Um, I test drove this car and thought the other windows had power control-is that not true? Sounds kind of strange that only one would be power....
A: Guess that reviewer forgot to turn off the child proof lock!_! You know the button on the drivers side that allows you to lock the other 3 power windows, wonder if he also thought the rear doors only opened from the outside?!_! Anyway, I don't know if there ever was a car built in my lifetime that only had a power driverside door window. You would be smart to purchase the 2009 Sonata, they now have $2000 rebate on top of whatever you bargin down the price to and its already probably the best mid-sized sedan on the market...though the new Mazda 6 will be out in a few weeks. Go to http://www.hyundaiusa.com and look up the special offers and read more about the Sonata too. I just test drove the Genesis V8 yesterday, I can't believe a car like that is only $42000, it looks, feels, drives and has the features of those $55-75K cars.
Q: Hyundai Sonata 2009 price??? PLease help?
I am looking for a 2009 Hyundai Sonata, and this dealer who is about 100 miles away from me(I live in the mountains!!) is saying that the price of the car is $13,500, atleast 1000 dollars less than other dealers. It is a manual, which is the only reason I see he has such cheap cars. He wants me to come for a test drive and I have done alot of research about this dealer, and my best friend bought the same car, just an earlier model from the same dealer. Is it a scam?? I do not want to make the journey(dont have a car yet) and then given a surprise!!! PLEASE HELP ME
A: That price includes all available rebates and maybe even a down payment. You can check http://www.hyundaiusa.com for the latest rebates. The Sonata GLS Manual has MSRP of $18700-$2000 Hyundai rebate leaves you at $16700, this dealer must be including a 10% downpayment or something hidden in the price because even with his volume discounts I don't see how he can make a dollar at $13,500. You can be sure that doesn't include the $650 freight charge, plus you pay tax, tags, processing. Hey, if you need a car its worth a trip out there and if not true I would assume there are other car dealers in that same town to check out the same day.
Q: New 2009 Hyundai Sonata model already?
I just saw the new redesigned 2009 Hyundai Sonata and got an invitation to test drive one the end of February. I can't wait to write my review. They are making some big claims but the last time they did that, they fell short again. The look is more refined and the interior materials are said to be "higher quality," but I'll wait and see when I see it.
One of the reasons the resale value is so poor on Hyundais is because every 2 or 3 years they change the look and body style of their cars, and we all know nobody wants to drive around in an old model when they can have a new one. Right? I feel bad for those who want to buy a new 2008 model and think they are getting a good deal. What do you think? Have you seen it?
klj- If you really are a "biochemistry student" then you must be failing all of your classes. How do you spend 10+ hours per day here writing responses to Hyundai questions if you have to study for Biochem? Give us all a break- There are more Hyundai sales people here than there are questions, and they come out of the closet everyday. Some even proclaim their title proudly!
aj2003- Written like a true Hyundai sales representitive. lol. Its bad enough that Hyundai already has such poor resale value, now add it a new model in just 3 years time and you have dealers that will be stuck with 2007 AND 2008 leftovers that will need to be sold at a very STEEP discount. Can you spell 'depreciation' for me?
Bobby- you sound so patriotic! "American made." LOL Why don't you explain how all corporate profits go straight back into the pockets of Koreans in Korea?
Oh, BTW, Hyundai is not class leading in any single catagory, according to Car and Driver. Their last test of the Sonata placed it dead last in a midsize comparison test and their Tuscon just came in 8th place out of 9! But don't take their word for it- test drive one yourself. "Think about it."
klj0412- I almost forgot. Hyundai isn't selling cars because they are building cars that nobody wants, not because of their sales people. All their potential buyers have bought already or tried to sell their Hyundai and found out how much they lost. Again, there is NOT ONE Hyundai that is better than all other cars. Not one. Think about that. GM on the other hand has one hit after another- Enclave, Malibu, Acadia, Sky, Corvette, ZR1, Z06, CTS, CTS-V, Hybrid Tahoe, Hybrid Escalade, Hybrid Yukon winning award after award and selling better than expected. And soon, the Traverse, the Camaro, the CTS coupe and a whole line of new Cadillacs will be there. Chrysler and Ford are in a major turn around phase that will follow in the foot steps of GM. Need I say more? Put your resignation in today at Hyundai and join up in a GM dealer. There will be plenty of work to do!
A: Yup I just saw it on yahoo. I think its ok looking. I dont know why they need an update already. But after my experience with my Veracruz which I traded in for a much much better CUV I definitely would never buy a Hyundai again!!!!!! Very bad resale!!! I got pennies on the dollar for what I paid for it.
Q: need solution to 2009 hyundai sonata tpms failure?
tpms light illuminates and stays lit even when tire pressure in all four tires are normal. dealer has reset the tpms indicator twice in one week. i do not trust this system but i have it so how do i get the dealer to fix the problem i don't want to have to go to them every week to reset the sytem. what recourse do i have to resolve this proble?
A: I work as a Hyundai tech and we are having a quite a bit of a problems with the 09 Sonata TPMS. Sounds like this dealer is being lazy and not fully diagnosing it. I worked on one the other day and I has to switch the range of the sensors. All in all, there is a special tool to do this with Hyundai has. I would say try another dealer or call Hyundai and ask to speak with the district rep. Tell them you heard these cars are having this problem often and you want it fixed. Hyundai is very picky with customer satisfaction.
Q: 2009 hyundai sonata keyless?
Does the new hyundai sonata have keyless entry and ignition?
A: nope it has the in dash key ignition. the genesis will have the keyless ignition.
Q: 2009 hyundai sonata?
is it a good car? ive got a friend who works for doral hyundai in florida and she said she can get me a 2008 sonata really cheap below cost but people have been telling me to not get a hyundai? im also thinking about the chevrolet malibu which im gonna drive on wednesday. any owners or tips what to avoid or look for.
A: Let's compare the two. Conveniently, I have something which may interest you: a side by side comparison of these two vehicles. This is my own short review written for an online article. it helps give a subjective, balanced view of these two cars.

Style/Appearance
Malibu -- Stunning exterior looks. Excellent interior design, materials and execution.
Sonota -- Clean but bland exterior looks. Good interior design, materials and exetution.
Winner: Malibu is the clear winner. Better looking exterior and execution.
Reliability
Malibu -- Long Term Reliability Rating N/A
Sonota -- Long Term Reliability Rating 77. Below average.
Winner: Previous generation Malibu had Average Reliability, but the Sonota has had below average ratings for past and new generations. New Malibu has Above Average Expected Reliability Ratings.
Verdict: The Malibu is the clear winner in this comparison. Not only is it a better performing vehicle, customer satisfaction rates are very high based on 11,300 reports. We agree with Car and Driver by making the Malibu a Top Ten Winner for 2008. The Hyundai Sonota has not made any massive improvements and its depreciation rates are questionable, resulting in a very poor long term value. New for 2008, the Chevy Malibu jumps to the front of the pack, beating out the Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, Toyota Camry and Hyundai Sonota.
The Malibu is the quietest among its top 5 competitors. The ride is supple yet it holds it own on a twisty two lane road. However, the tires give up easy. The steering is very good for both on center feel and feedback. The brakes are good. Minimal fade and good balance.
The Sonota is also very smooth riding and quiet but gives up some sportiness for suppleness. Like the Malibu, the tires give up easy. The steering lacks feedback and feels numb on center. The brakes are good. Minimal fade and good balance. The transmssion in the Sonota is generally good but not eager to downshift. There is more noise from the suspension and body in the Sonota as well. The Sonota comes well equipped for little money, but that value quickly fades away with time and miles. We also have to question the durability of some materials.
The new 2008 Chevy Malibu offers style, value and driving fun in an otherwise boring segment. Additionally, the new Chevrolet Malibu was awarded North American Car of the Year and has earned many other awards, all giving evidence of its ability and dominance in this selection of family vehicles and GM's comeback for 2008. ///
As you can see from this article, the Malibu is the clear choice.
Q: 2008 Honda Accord LX or 2009 Hyundai sonata GLS?
i m getting deal for accord LX for OTD $20700.00 and sonata for OTD$18000.00....
want better one that will last 8-10 yrs..
what about 2009 camery....getting for $21,000.00
A: Which car do you like to drive and sit in? If you are keeping 8-10 years then the depreciation difference will never factor in, plus the Accord is already costing you $2700 more upfront! I'd go with the Sonata over the Accord or Camery. The new Mazda 6 is also really good.
