Q: Whats the easiest way to install a amp in a 2000 hyundai tiburon?
I have a 2000 tiburon that im trying to nstal a amp in but I cant find any holes in the fire wall for the power wire to come through. I really dont want to have to drill a hole. Can any one help please?

A: Look for a grommet around the stearing column or brake/master cylinder. You can punch through one of those being careful not to nick any wires if they are present. Otherwise drill a hole and put your own grommet in. Make sure you know what's on the other side before you drill.

Q: How do I fix the 4th gear (over drive) in a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon?
How do I fix the 4th gear (over drive) in a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon? is there a way to replace the sensor to the 4th gear? Also could it be the button in the gear shifter (in the center console)?

A: If overdrive is gone then you will either have to have the transmission completely rebuilt or just have overdrive rebuilt.

Q: Is a 2000 hyundai Tiburon for about $7000 a good deal with about 20,000 miles on it?

Q: USED 2000 Hyundai Tiburon - 144701Kilometers?
Hey, so I'm really new to car buying(only had my license about 3 months) and i was lookign through the local used cars sites and found a USED 2000 Hyundai Tiburon with 144701Kilometers. but I don't know if thats a good thing or not. Cause I have no intelliegnce when it comes to cars. Here is the link: http://www.canadianautosource.com/details.php?unit_number=2242 (** directly to the car I like) and here is that used car site: http://www.canadianautosource.com/browse_cars.php please keep in mind that I'm a 17 year old female, and 2 doors don't bother me, so tell me what you think and if anyone has interior pics of the 2002 hyundai tiburon model please link them :)

A: Seems like a reasonable price, maybe he'll take $5500 for it. 2 things you must do first, 1 take the car to a service station/mechanic and pay for a through inspection to make sure there are no problems with the car and check the maintainence to see if anything was missed. 2nd find out how much the insurance is going to cost you on the car. If these 2 items check out, then I think you will be happy with this car.

Q: What's wrong with my 2000 Hyundai Tiburon?
A few months ago, I was having transmission troubles with my car. It was jerking and banging really bad when it shifted gears. It was still under my extended warranty, so I took it to the dealership to get fixed. They told me they fixed it. Well, it has still been driving funny. Before I got this new transmission, I got 26 MPG. Now I'm luckily if I get 17 MPG. I thought it was running really high RPMS [3,500 at 75MPH], but I was told that was normal because it is a 4-cylinder. It has just never been that high for me before. I have taken it back to the dealership multiple times and they tell me it's fine. But, I just found out today that they KNOW something is wrong with it, they just don't know what it is, so they tell me it's fine, when really it isn't. Can anyone tell me what you think the issue might be so I can know what to look for? Thanks. It's an automatic. No it doesn't bang anymore, it shifts fine. And I thought it may not be going into overdrive, but I waited until I counted up to 4th gear and then turned my overdrive off and it downshifted into 3rd. So I know it's not that. The reason I know they aren't telling me the whole truth is because I took it to fix a flat tire and I was telling the dude all about my car and the probs. He knew someone at the dealership that I got it, so he called him. The dude at the dealership told him they know theres a prob., but they don't know what it is. But when I go up there, they just say it's normal and everything is okay with it.

A: Does it still jerk and bang? Or does it just run a little high RPM wise? It could be the speed sensor or Transmission control Unit. As said, who mentioned the dealer not telling you everything? If you can go to another dealer to get a second opinion. "Shouting" at the counter person will do nothing but annoy the service people but if you feel they are hiding something talk to the regional manager and threaten to contact Hyundai Motor Company if your problem isn't resolved. However, always get a second opinion first because it may be a simple fix. Your main dealer isn't the only place to take your car. Don't mind sofpan. Anyone who "cuts and paste" the same rant for every Hyundai question has some emotional issues to deal with. Good Luck.

Q: Can a Bulldog Remote Starter with Keyless Entry be installed on a Hyundai Tiburon 2000?
I have a Hyundai Tiburon 2000 and I'm planning to install keyless entry and I was wondering if the Bulldog Remote Starter with Keyless Entry is compatible with my car? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00009WC2S I read that some cars need the bypass module. I'm not sure if my car needs one or not, but if I do I was thinking of getting this one. Universal Alarm Bypass Module - 29402 http://www.directedstore.com/cgi-bin/commerce.exe?preadd=action&key=29402 What do you think? Do you think it'll work? How long will it take to install for a newbie vs experienced mechanic? Any suggestions? Thanks I have power lock doors and windows

A: http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/starters.htm http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/contactpage.htm I would call the company directly.

Q: 2000 Hyundai Tiburon??
Can anyone give me details as well as their personal opinions about this car? I'm interested in purchasing one and would like to know about it. anything and everything. Thanks :)

A: I love Hyundai but remember just like with any other used car make sure it is has been maintained properly, since the vehicle is seven years old i would check if the water pump and timing belt was changed, 2.0 liter in this car is a interference engine if the belt and water pump fails you most likely need a new engine.

Q: 2000 hyundai tiburon problems with battery?
I WAS DRIVING TO THE HOSPITAL TO VISIT A FRIEND AND 1ST MY CD PLAYER QUIT WORKING THEN MY CLOCK THEN I TRIED TO TURN MY HEAD LIGHTS ON AND MY CAR JUST WANTED TO SHUT OFF SO I HURRIED AND TURNED THEM OFF AND JUST AS SOON AS I GOT OFF THE EXPRESS WAY IT STARTED SPITTING AND SPUTTERIN AND JUST DIED I HAD TO CALL AAA TO COME AND TOW IT HOME I THOUGHT IT WAS THE ALTERNATER SO I WENT AND GOT A NEW 1 THAT DIDNT SOLVE ANY THING SO I GOTTA NEW BATTERY IT RAN ABOUT 30 MILES THEN STARTED ALL THE SAME PROBLEMS ALL OVER AGAIN I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT COULD BE SO IF SOMEONE COULD HELP IT WOULD BE AWSOME!!! I KNOW ITS SOMETHING ELECTRICAL

A: Make sure you replaced the battery as shown in the video below. Then get a jump start and drive to the auto store to have the battery and alternator charging checked. Or you can measure the charging voltage yourself at idle which should be 14 volts or more. http://www.ehow.com/how_512_replace-car-battery.html http://www.sears.com/shc/s/search_10153_12605?keyword=digital+multimeter&gobutton.x=0&gobutton.y=0&gobutton=find

Q: Anyone own a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon? I need some help?
I just recently had to get a new transmission for it and ever since it's been acting kinda funny. I guess what my question is how many rpm's is it supposed to use going down the interstate? Mine is 4,000. And it just feels and sounds like it needs to shift but its in 4th gear [its an automatic]. Does that shound about right to you?? I don't remember it using that many rpm's before, but i could be wrong. Can anyone help me?

A: I think you should go to another transmission shop and have them diagnose any problem. Tell them your concerns and see if they think you are right. 4,000 rpms does sound high for only going 60-65mph in highest gear. However, I've never driven a small engine car, just V6's, so my Azera 3.8L at 70 mph is only around 2500 RPM.

Q: anyone know how much a 2000-2001 hyundai tiburon is worth?

Q: Hyundai Tiburon Motor Swap?
I own a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon, 140 hp model. I am planning on buying the 172 horse motor that went into the 3rd gens, and was just wondering how difficult of a swap this would end up being -- one of my pals says the swap itself wouldn't be too tricky, but re-doing the electronics would be the hard part. Considering money is no issue, would this be worth it? Is it even possible? And if it is, should I go ahead and spring for the 6-speed manual as well? It's a 5-speed as it sits. Any help is appreciated.

A: If money is of no concern, drop an Accura or Integra in.

Q: can i replace my 4cyl hyundai with a v6? :2000 tiburon?

A: I have not done a Hyundai yet, but, it would reqiures wiring harness, motor/tranny mounts, down pipe, exh collector, ECU/TCU (computer) and possibly the Transmission (differ Bellhousing cofig) these are thing that you have to considered, Go to this forum to see if these guys can give you some tips. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=198 And here: http://www.hyundaiperformance.com/forums/index.php

Q: Why is early mecedez faster than my hyundai Tiburon?
A mercedez that looked to have been made in the early part of 2000. Its faster than my 03 tiburon. Why is that? 2000 mercedes, Damn that old fart. Showing me up like that.

A: Do you have the Tiburon GS or GT? The GT should be faster or just as fast as the Tiburon. If you have the GS, then your car goes just as fast as Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla since you have about the same power. The Mercedes cars usually have lots of power, but they are much more boring to drive and have worse handling than the Hyundai Tiburon.

Q: Can you diagnose my Hyundai?
I have a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon. I recently had 2 new oxygen sensors (bank 1 + 2) replaced. The car is stalling on me. Now the check engine light is on and it says i need a crankshaft position sensor. Pep Boys currently has my car....they are replacing the 2 new oxygen sensors and also replacing the crankshaft position sensor. Do you think this will resolve the problem? By the way, don't ever buy Hyundai......i have had so many problems with this p.o.s. Thanks!

A: If you truly want to become more knowledgeable about what the check engine light really means, it will be worth your time to read some of these articles: http://www.samarins.com/diagnose/checkengine.html http://www.troublecodes.net/articles/myth-conception.shtml Remember, that in spite of your difficulties with your Hyundai, you have a 10 year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty as long as you follow the Hyundai powertrain maintenance service schedule including having your timing belt replaced every 60,000 miles. Hyundai honored my daugter's powertrain warranty, so I think they will honor yours if you maintain the vehicle. I agree that I would prefer a Toyota in place of the Hyundai in my case, but stick with it while you own it and give the Hyundai dealer a chance to say what they think each time you seek service on your car. The dealer may have covered the oxygen sensors (if they were really needed) under your emission's warranty. Try the dealer first or to get a second opinion. You won't always pay more at the dealer.

Q: Why is my Hyundai Tiburon's engine shutting off automatically?
It is a 2000 & prior to the past year, I've never had a problem with it. (And please don't say because it's a Hyundai. Ha ha.)This has happened 3 times in the past two weeks. When I come to a complete stop, the car shudders, and the engine turns off, leaving me with the radio still running. The car will start back up without a problem. The car also hesitates before coming to any stop, almost like it is bucking like a horse. In the recent past, I've had a problem with the battery as well. Every two months or so, the battery goes dead even though I've had the battery tested and I've been told it's a good battery. I've also had the car tested for a drain, and my mechanic has tested it and cannot find any drain. It is still an ongoing problem. I've been using a portable car charger to recharge it every time the battery goes dead. I'm taking the car to the dealership this week instead of my usual mechanic, but I want to have an idea of what they might say so I don't get ripped off. The check engine light is not on.

A: I, if it were my car, would check the idle air control if I didn't have a check engine light on. If I did have it scanned for malfunction codes. If the check engine light is on then it's very possible that you have a lean code and the first step would be to clean the mass air flow sensor, unless it is damaged.
