Q: Where do i find the fuel filter on my 2005 Hyundai Tucson?
When i stop at a stop sign and then take off the car misses real bad like there is water in the gas so i treated the gas and it is still happening but only when you start to move for about 50 feet or so then it runs fine.So now i'm thinking it's the fuel filter.
A: Since the fuel filter in newer vehicles is jammed in the fuel tank along with the fuel pump, I'd advise against random part swaps. Unless you have a lift, then by all means, swap filters!
You may as well save your wasted money and blood, sweat, and tears and let a good tech diagnose and repair for you.
You probably do not have the equipment to test fuel pressure, so you truly indeed are just tossing guesses out there.
Q: what size back windshield wiper do I need to buy for my 2005 hyundai tucson?
I can"t find the size in any stores.....
A: The rear wiper blade is PN 98820-2E000, it is a 12 inch blade.
Q: 2005 hyundai tucson driving down road, makes rattling noise like lifters or something, then just shuts down?
no warning lights or indicators, now will not start , will just turn over--any suggestions?
driving home at about 80 mph, car starts making clanging noise, kinda like ol lifter rattle- then motor just quit, pulled to side of road, tried starting with no luck , but will turn over. no indicator lights in ref to oil pressure or anything popped up., shows oil on stick when i got it pulled home
A: Possibly the timing belt snapped and messed up some valves in the head. Only way to know for sure is to get it into the shop. You should still have warranty.
Q: 2005 Hyundai Tucson or 1997-2001 Honda Cr-v?
I'm 15 and I'm getting my first car soon, i can't decide either of the two. The Hyundai has lots of safety features like ABS and Stability control standard. But the bad side of the tucson is that it's a hyundai and like not much of teenagers would choose a hyundai. The honda looks like a car for a teenager, but it has less standard features. ehh... =/
A: Wow, what a no-brainer, of course the Tucson is way better then that old ass CRV. Like you said, its much safer and more reliable then a 10 year old car that is well worn. I'm sure the interior and handling of the Tucson are way superior to the Honda. If you prefer a car, you can get a 2004 Hyundai Sonata for about the same price as the 05 Tucson. The Tucson may also still have some of its 5 yr 60K warranty left which is another plus. And being a teen driver you will likely need those airbags and safety features sooner rather then later.
Q: 2005 hyundai tucson very rough idle, severe bucking on acceleration at low rpm?
My Tucson idles very rough and RPM drops to the point of almost stalling. In fact, I have stalled a couple times while parking. This only happens in drive, in park, neutral or reverse, It is fine. I also notice when the idle drops, the headlights and dash lights seem to dim with it.
To go along with this, I have poor acceleration and/or strong bucking of the engine at low RPM. Once I hit about 30MPH it seems to go away. At highway speeds, it seems non-existent.
Also, the problem went away one time after an oil change and then came back 2 months later (seemed to come back when the weather got cold)
Any ideas? please please please!!!

A: Hay, It sounds like you may have loose or dirty Battery Cables, when you shift into gear the engine torques may cause a momentary connect-disconnect affecting the entire system anyway good luck;)

Q: 2005 Hyundai Tucson V6 stalling?
About 2 weeks ago the car just shut off in the McD drive through after about 30 mins of highway driving. Tonight on highway it almost felt like it would stall while going 60 mph. Two mins later in traffic back up when I was down to just cruising with foot on/off brake it died again. Once put in park it has started right up again both times. Temp is ok, no check engine light coming on. Any idea what may be causing this? If not, is it something the dealer should easily detect if hooked up to diagnostic equip?
I just had a new battery installed and the car winterized about 3 days before the McD incident.
A: What is your mileage? If it is under 60,000 miles it is covered under warranty. Bring it to your local Hyundai dealer.
Q: My 2005 Hyundai Tucson has begun jerking violently when first taking off. Some power loss too. Any ideas why?
The series of jerks started suddenly, and doesn't seem to get any worse or better. After you accelerate lightly during the take off, the problem is still there, just not as bad. When I reach about 30mph. the problem stops, but power loss is evident. After accelerating up to, and setting the cruise on about 70mph, everything is fine. It is only when taking off from a dead or rolling stop. No engine lights are on. It has 46,000 miles, is a V6 auto with 4wd. I have kept it serviced faithfully, but I would love to avoid the dealer if at all possible. Any Ideas?
A: hmmm... sounds like a transmission issue, check the level and condition of the fluid. does the engine seem to rev excessively? if the fluid is black or really dark red then it time for a flush, but id the transmission is slipping now some damage might have been done and it might need replacement. i would have to drive it my self to get into anymore detail and to know for sure whats wrong but i would recommend going somewhere today to have it looked at. last thing you need is to get stranded somewhere for no reason. this is covered by Hyundai's power train warranty so take it to a Hyundai dealer and they should look at it for free and let you know what is wrong
best of luck, hope its nothing too bad.
Q: Hyundai Tucson 2005 Problems??
My tuscon has died twice whilst driving in the past fortnight. As braking the car literally goes to sleep on you with the 1st sign being No steering - this has happened in the middle of traffic....Whats making this more frustrating is that it is NOT consistent - i have taken it back to the dealership each time only to be told that the computer has not recorded a fault, thay have driven the car without a fault & i should just bring it back if it happens again. The warranty runs out in 2 wks - so maybe the computer will record something then.....any ideas out there????
A: I'd say check your battery terminals for corrosion or if they are loose then have the battery checked to see if it needs replacing. Batteries typically only last 3-4 years, so that may be the problem and is a simple enough fix. Unless your check engine light comes on or another dash light, I don't think the computer will record anything.

Guy above is right.
Q: 05 Hyundai Tucson Check Engine Codes??
What do the codes P0171 and P0174 mean? They came up on my 2005 hyundai tucson. The check engine line came on and my car was running rough. It "jumps" when you press on the gas to move from a stop. Almost as if I was pumping the gas.
A: those are codes for a lean running engine what you need to do is take it to a shop and have them check for vacuum leaks,or any lines that may be of,you may also have one or tow of the 0-2 sensors going bad on it,that too will cause it to run like that ,and give those codes, have a shop verify this before you start buying parts for it,that can get really expensive, good luck.
Q: Sometimes when I step on the gas (Hyundai Tucson) it chugs like it isn't getting enough gas. What's wrong?
I drive a 2005 Hyundai Tucson. Lately, when I step on the gas, it chugs a bit, almost as if it isn't getting enough gas even though there's plenty of gas in the tank. It doesn't happen all the time but it's frequent enough to make me concerned. It started happening about a week ago when the weather got cold and we got a lot of snow. Am I not warming it up long enough or is there a more serious problem? It doesn't have a lot of mileage on it and I don't drive like crazy. Can anyone tell me what's going on with it?
A: I think I know the problem...you bought a Hyundai.
Q: Is it safe to replace the OEM tires with a lower load index?
Is it safe to replace the OEM tires on my wife's 2005 Hyundai Tucson that have a tire load of 99 with new tires that have a load rating of 97 or will this make it unsafe, more tire blowouts, etc...? Thanks in advance for the help
A: Most OEM tires are substantially over rated for the vehicle that they are installed on. If you have any doubts, get the vehicle weighed on a per axle basis and verify that way that the rating of the tires is adequate for the actual load you are placing on them.
Q: New Center Console for Hyundai Tucson???
Where can I find a replacement one? My current one is cracked. it's for a 2005 if that help....
A: Your best bet will probably be the Hyundai dealer. They are going to be a bit on the pricey side but at least you know that its brand new and guaranteed to fit. The downside is it may take them some time to get it. They dont stock everything for every car.
Another option would be an auto recycler. You would have to look for one that stocks newer vehicles (stuff like insurance claims and theft recoveries). Im sure they would be priced better than a dealer and would be more likely to have something like that in stock. The only downside I could see to that would be if they didnt have your correct color in stock. There are quite a few online like junkyard dog that would allow you put in a request and you can get responses from all over the country and look for the best price. Hope this helps.
